Do ex-servicemen get special age relaxation?
Yes. Ex-servicemen are eligible for additional relaxation over and above their category limit:
- Permanent Commission: +3 years
- Short Service Commission & Others: +5 years
These relaxations are cumulative with any other applicable category relaxations.
Can PwBD candidates get multiple relaxations?
Yes. Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) receive up to 10 years of age relaxation, which can be combined with:
- Category relaxation (General → OBC/SC/ST limits)
- Ex-servicemen relaxation (if also an ex-serviceman)
- Government employee relaxation (+5 years for service ≥3 years)
However, the total relaxation cannot exceed the statutory caps laid out in the UPSC notification.
